A long-awaited update, and reward for your patience!

Hello all! We've been pretty quiet around these parts lately. In this case, no news is good news, we've been making some progress, and the overall album is slowwwwly coming together.
BUT! While we have been working on our stuff, it just so happens that the Duke has finished working on his bonus song. A few months back I had sent him a few batches of unfinished lyrics to work from, and he gravitated towards one called "Uncanny Valley." It was kinda wistful in its original form, but the Duke worked his patented Duke-Magic™ and a) made it a bit more hopeful and b) turned it into an actual song.
We'd been going under the assumption that it would get released at the same time as the other material, but you all have been so patient, we wanted to give you a little something to tide you over! So you'll be getting a download link very soon via Backerkit (check your spam filters if it doesn't show up).
AND ANOTHER COOL THING: The Duke will be doing a Facebook live broadcast on our Facebook group (www.facebook.com/freezepopband) tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:30pm Eastern time/6:30pm Pacific. He'll be talking about his part of the songwriting/production process, and you'll get to check out his studio and see that DukeMagic™ in action!
Anyway, hope you like Uncanny Valley! Thank you all for hanging in there, more good tunes are on the way soon!

Hey kids (and adults),
A not-very-super update from Camp Freezepop (and Sean specifically) and some explanations. We are very, very, very behind. We slipped over the summer by a month or something but it's gotten much worse. No excuses, really, but I will try and offer an explanation:
My mother has been ill for many years now and this summer she was moved into a hospice situation. She became gravely ill in November and was in the ICU for 6 weeks. She passed a couple of weeks ago and she's out of pain, so it's terribly sad but also a relief. I have been very much distracted by that situation and really not in the correct headspace to make Freezepop songs for some time. Before we did the Kickstarter I wanted to make sure that we had a certain amount of music finished so we wouldn't 'get stuck,' and even though we had 70-odd demos done, well, it's happened anyhow. I have taken a few weeks off to deal with family stuff (and to deal with myself, to be honest) and am just now getting back to business to make a final stand for a couple months. I do feel like we're making something very special, but I just haven't been able to focus on it for a while. I started to see it taking shape at the end of October/early November, but we're only just now getting back to it. I truly apologize for the delay, but I'm not sure what I really could have done about it. I really don't mean to leave anyone hanging after the amazing Spring we had. Your generosity is still mind-blowing to me and I do plan to reward you with some terrific records. All my best, as always.

So, it's been a little while since our last update. No major news, things are still slow-going, but coming along. Baby steps! Right now Sean is upstairs in the studio working on a Thing, and I have to say, it's pretty delightful.
Oh, and we went to the Boston Music Awards this week, that was a pretty fun time:
Hope y'all are having a festive holiday season so far! xo

Lots of instrumentals. Not as many lyrics. Working on sorting that out... anyway, a sneak peek for you:
